Keely Simonson

Email:
Senior /Age Group Assistant Coach

Growing up in Indianapolis, Keely got her start swimming with Riviera Swim Club where she began her competitive career at the age of six. She continued club swimming through middle school with Zionsville Swim Club and competed as a part of the Zionsville High School team for three years. As senior year approached, her college aspirations came into focus and she transitioned over to Carmel Swim Club to compete as a club swimmer for her last year of high school. Keely was recruited to swim for the United States Naval Academy as a breaststroker and traveled with the varsity team through her freshman year. A femur fracture ended her collegiate swimming career, but true to her “water baby” nature, she couldn’t be kept away from the water too long. She volunteered as an intramural swim coach, private swim coach, and remedial swim coach for students who required assistance to pass mandatory swim tests. During her time as an officer in the U.S. Navy, Keely coached local military leagues, provided private lessons, and generally enjoyed the coastal swimming environment. Keely’s leadership background has given her an appreciation for the value of team-building both in and out of the pool and she places a high premium on the foundations of swimming. Keely’s vision for developing high-caliber, quality athletes relies on respect, accountability, and trust.
